Before you order online, here's a little more information about where your meat comes from:

Our meat comes from Ray Lodge Farm, Rye Farm,  at Henfield, Tablehurst Farm at Forest Row ( a community supported farm registered with the Biodynamic Association and other local farms that produce traditionally reared, free range or traditional meat.

SussexWay traditional Beef:
Since early times Sussex cattle have produced rich marbled beef, the finest to grace any table. We have a herd of traditional Sussex cattle which we cross with our Limousin bull resulting in particularly large and succulent steaks.

We hang our beef for a minimum of 21 days to ensure special tenderness and full flavour.

"At our dinner party last week your rib of beef was an absolute triumph"
Charles De Meester, Woldingham Surrey
SussexWay traditional Lamb from Rye Farm at Henfield:
At Rye Farm the lamb is reared and matured on the Wetlands of Henfield - lush open grasslands, a bird watchers paradise.

Our carefully selected produce ensures attractive tasty chops and joints on your table. We specialize in quality with succulent young lamb and mutton.

"This is the best lamb I have ever tasted."
Dr Quentin Letts, Guildford
SussexWay Traditional Pork:
We have various breeds of parent stock. Our sows are Saddleback, Oxford sandy and black and Large White and our boar (Barrie) is by the famous sire Arnold Schwarzanegger.

Our pigs lead a natural life outdoors and are able to root and browse in permanent pasture. We produce some of the finest free range pork, dry-cure bacon and succulent hams.
SussexWay traditional or traditionally reared Chickens, Ducks, Geese & Turkeys:

By popular demand we can offer you a choice of traditional chicken from Tablehurst Farm reared to Biodynamic standards (one of the traditional certifying bodies) or free range, traditionally reared chickens from local farms including Ray Lodge Farm.

All the poultry we supply enjoy a free-range life.  Young birds are stabilized under brooders for warmth and fed and watered using a balanced grain based ration and automatic drinkers. When safe to stay outside during the day, the birds are able to browse and forage under natural conditions. At night the houses are secured as protection against predators.

Our fresh hens eggs have wholesome yolks and make superb scrambled eggs.

The birds grow naturally and enjoy a longer life than if they were subject to faster food destinations. In consequence the flavour of our poultry is fantastic and our satisfied customers are frequently passing favourable comments about the taste.

"We are definitely having another SussexWay traditional turkey next year, it was so tasty"
Mrs Ina Valler,Dormansland, Surrey
